Mental Health First Aid focuses on the four most common mental health disorders including substance related, mood related, anxiety and trauma related, and psychotic disorders. Participants who take this course are well prepared to interact confidently about mental health with their family, friends, communities, and workplaces.
In-person training is two (2) full days (9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) over a Saturday and Sunday. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Online training requires you complete pre-course work on your own a before the two (2) four-hour sessions (3:30 - 7:30 p.m.) with other learners over Zoom. You will receive the pre-course with ample time to complete by the due date. Note that you must complete the pre-course work in order to participate in the online sessions.

This certified training has a minimum and maximum number of participants. Sessions will be cancelled if minimum is not reached. If interest in a session exceeds capacity you will be placed onto a waitlist. Note that you must attend the entire training (no exceptions). Please only register if you are able and committed to attend.
Please note, members who no-show for training may be precluded from registering for future events and training opportunities.
MHFA training is certified by the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Participants must complete the entire training in order to receive their certificate. No exceptions.
